Where did the summer go? Can you believe it is September?
For many, this can be an interesting time of the year. I find myself setting resolutions, as the start of the school year can be a fresh start for so many - getting back to basics, new schedules, days shortening, and temperatures (fingers crossed) dipping into more double-digit numbers rather than three.
As we begin to see the dog days of summer in our rearview mirrors, let me share a few important event dates in Sunnyside. First up - you will not want to miss the Sunnyside Music Festival on Saturday, September 14 with the music lineup beginning at noon. Stop by the SUNI tent to say hi! Learn more about the event here.
Also not to miss, join us for the second annual Sunnyside Health and Wellness Festival at Chaffee Park on Saturday, September 28 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Learn more about the event here.
I will leave you with this; it won’t be long before the leaves begin to turn colors and fall, the air crispens, and the honeybees mosey to their hives for the winter. May we learn something from the honeybee - the truest of neighbors, giving each other unconditional help when needed most (check out this video).
My September resolution - following the example of the honeybee - is to be a good Sunnyside neighbor.
