This month is also an opportunity to celebrate Pride, honoring the rich history and vibrant spirit of the LGBTQ+ community.
🌈 Pride Month commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City, a pivotal moment that ignited the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. The first Pride march, held on June 28, 1970, marked the anniversary of this uprising and set the stage for annual celebrations that now span the globe.
Our community thrives on inclusivity and solidarity.
Let’s celebrate our diverse and vibrant community together!

In May, Council members held their annual Budget and Policy retreat to set priorities for the 2025 budget, focusing on safety, community-focused government, housing and homelessness, business and workforce, climate, mobility, and safer streets, youth and families, and health and behavioral health.
The retreat's outcomes were communicated in a letter from President Torres and Councilwoman Sandoval to Mayor Johnston, outlining citywide budget and policy priorities. These goals include investing in our workforce, supporting local businesses, and addressing climate change, aiming to create a stronger, more vibrant Denver. We look forward to collaborating with Mayor Johnston and the community to make meaningful progress on these important issues.
